BUYER GUIDE · TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

What should an API penetration test cover?

Make API scope clear before work begins.

Describe the interface

Provide the base URLs, API versions, endpoint inventory, OpenAPI or other documentation, authentication flow and example requests. Identify REST, GraphQL or other interfaces, along with third-party integrations and ownership.

Supply realistic access roles

Agree accounts, tokens, scopes and test data for each user type. Where the application separates customers or organisations, provide suitable isolated test tenants so authorisation boundaries can be assessed safely.

Agree the security questions

Coverage may include object-level and function-level authorisation, authentication, input handling, sensitive data exposure and business logic. Resource limits, abuse scenarios and integration behaviour should be explicitly scoped. Disruptive load testing is excluded unless separately authorised.

Set practical boundaries

Confirm the environment, endpoint exclusions, request limits, production safeguards, testing window and evidence handling. Agree whether web interface testing, API testing, mobile clients and configuration review are included or priced separately.
